Ministry Leadership Team

The Friends was set up in 1998 by a group of people whose aim was to raise funds for the fabric of the Church. They have about three events a year, the main fund raiser a concert which has featured local bands, singers, male voice choirs and jazz groups. Besides concerts, they have organised quizzes, booksales, and open church events . The activities are designed to appeal to people who are not necessary regular members of the congregation and are not only fun to attend but also to organise.

Over the years the Friends have paid for the treatment of the timber in the church, the internal decoration, helped with the cost of insurance and the present fund raising is going towards the repair of the windows.

Anyone who is interested in joining the committee of the Friends contact the Secretary Mr Pat Thomas Tel 01304 612819

Above "Mary window"-it shows three Marys.-St Mary Cleophas, the Virgin Mary and St Mary of Bethany.  Dating from 1912, the window is dedicated to Rev'd Savage's mother, Mary Savage.

Top left This window depicts Francis of Assisi and given in memory of a Man of Kent (Tom Miller) by his brother. Notice the many different birds and the wolf. The donor owned a German Shepherd. It was designed by Frederick Cole, for many years the Stain Glass designer of Canterbury Cathedral, and a personal friend of the donor.
Bottom left This is also a Fredrick Cole window and donated by a person who came from an American desert. It depicts "I was a stranger, and you welcomed me "( Matthew Ch25v35 ).
Top right
This Victorian window depicts the Good shepherd, St Anne and St. Elizabeth surmounted by the Lamb of God, slain but risen in glory
Bottom Right
This modern window depicts the creation. The sun and the moon, stars, and the hand of God can be seen in the upper window, with Adam, Eve and the apple tree on the right hand side. See how many animals you can see! Commissioned by an admirer of Fredrick Coles work this was completed in 1977.
